PRODUCTION MACHINING

New Ulm Precision Tool, Inc (NUPTI) has been running low, medium and long run machining production for approximately 10 years. This production work includes machining in the CNC Turning Center, Horizontal Machining Center, and Vertical Machining Center. Very close tolerance part machining runs also utilize the Jig Grinder, Wire and Conventional EDM, Surface Grinding, Drilling, and other operations.

Typical general machining production work includes cast steel air compressor cylinders, gear box housings, cast steel and aluminum valve bodies, and steel valve spools. These runs are usually medium to high quantity runs.

High precision machining runs are usually low to medium quantity. This type of work includes replacement parts for progressive dies and plastic injection molds. Tolerances as close as .0001" and .0002" are included in the high precision part production runs.

To complement the production machines we already have, we have just purchased an OKUMA MX-40HA, 400 mm Horizontal Machining Center with a 12,000 RPM spindle and a 40 position tool magazine. This machine has a fully programmable 4th axis and "thru-the-spindle" coolant.

NUPTI's fixturing and tooling know-how provide strong support for our production machining capabilities. Since we specialize in designing and building of fixtures, it lends a nice hand to our production machining.
